With Steve Sucato at a dance concert.

Arts Air is former-dancer-turned-arts-writer and critic Steve Sucato’s website that frames art (especially dance) as something to be shared and circulated—like air—emphasizing the broad, expressive nature of art and its role in communication, visibility, and public presence.

Dancing alongside my Teen/Adult Tap class and helping my production piece I choreographed for the Cleveland City Dance Annual Concert 2026.

The Annual Upper Division Concert is Sunday, May 17 at 3:00 pm at the Lorraine and Bill Dodero Center for Performing Arts. Each year we anticipate this concert with excitement. It allows students in beginning levels and hight a chance to shine in front of their family and friends.  This experience helps build self-esteem while contributing to a sense of confidence, poise, and community.

Curious about tap dancing? 👞✨

I’m exploring the possibility of offering small-group Beginner Tap classes at Cleveland City Dance on a flexible, drop-in basis between May 26 and June 25 (5 weeks).

Classes would be beginner-friendly, community-centered, and offered on a sliding scale:
💫 “Pay what moves you” — $10–$25 per class

I’ll confirm class times week-to-week based on interest and availability to see if we can gather a fun small group together!

🗓 Current availability:
• May 26–28: Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings after 3:30 PM
• First full week of June: evenings after 3:30 PM
• Second, third, and fourth weeks of June:
▪ Tuesdays: 5:30–6:30 PM
▪ Wednesdays & Thursdays: after 3:30 PM

If you’d be interested in joining a beginner tap class, send me a message and share your availability. Once I hear from enough folks, I’ll follow up with scheduling details!

And if summer planning is more your speed:
Beginner Tap will also be offered during the Cleveland City Dance Summer Session 2 from July 6–August 8 on Wednesdays from 6:30–7:30 PM, followed by an open-level tap class from 7:30–8:30 PM for dancers with some prior experience.
